Oman: Jewel of Arabia

Oman, on the Arabian Peninsula's southeastern coast, combines stunning landscapes with rich maritime history and stable governance. Known for frankincense, traditional souqs, and dramatic mountain and desert scenery, Oman has modernized while preserving heritage.

Muscat, the capital, features white buildings, beautiful mosques including the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, and the historic Mutrah Souq. Oman's diverse landscapes include the Hajar Mountains, vast Wahiba Sands desert, lush Salalah region (experiencing monsoon rains), and dramatic fjords at Musandam Peninsula. Frankincense trees still grow in Dhofar region.

Oman's maritime history includes trading with Africa and Asia, with Omanis establishing an empire reaching to Zanzibar. Sultan Qaboos bin Said modernized Oman from 1970-2020 while maintaining traditions. Omani culture emphasizes hospitality, traditional dress (men wear dishdasha and kumma cap), and heritage preservation. Oman maintains neutrality in regional conflicts, focusing on development and tourism.
