Georgia: Peach State

Georgia, in the Southeast, combines Southern tradition with modern growth, particularly in Atlanta's metropolitan area. Known as the "Peach State," Georgia has evolved from agricultural economy to business and film production hub.

Atlanta, the capital and largest city, is a major business center home to Coca-Cola, Delta Airlines, UPS, and Home Depot. The city hosted the 1996 Olympics and serves as cultural capital of the New South. Savannah's historic district preserves colonial and antebellum architecture. Stone Mountain features Confederate memorial carving. The Appalachian Trail's southern terminus is in Georgia.

Georgia's economy includes film production (Marvel films shot here), logistics, agriculture (peanuts, pecans, peaches), and poultry. Martin Luther King Jr. was born in Atlanta. The state played crucial role in Civil Rights Movement. Georgia has diverse geography from mountains to coastal islands. Athens is home to University of Georgia and B-52s. Recent growth has transformed Georgia into purple state politically.
