San Antonio has the Alamo and River Walk. Austin, the capital, is a tech hub and "live music capital." Big Bend National Park showcases desert beauty. Border with Mexico creates cultural exchange.

Texas's economy includes energy, technology, agriculture, aerospace, and manufacturing. No state income tax and business-friendly climate attract companies and people. The state has massive population growth and increasing diversity. Tex-Mex food, cowboy culture, and Friday night football are central to identity. Texas pride is fierce with state flag prominently displayed. Political importance grows with size. Despite modernization, Texas maintains independent spirit and Western heritage.
