Arizona: Grand Canyon State

Arizona, in the Southwest, is famous for the Grand Canyon, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. The state features diverse landscapes from Sonoran Desert cacti to pine forests on the Colorado Plateau, with dramatic red rock formations throughout.

The Grand Canyon, carved by the Colorado River, attracts millions of visitors annually. Phoenix, the capital and largest city, is one of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas. Arizona has significant Native American heritage, with 22 tribes including Navajo Nation (largest reservation). Sedona's red rocks, Monument Valley, and saguaro cacti define the landscape.

Arizona's economy includes tourism, copper mining (state produces most US copper), aerospace, and technology. The state has year-round sunshine and warm winters attracting retirees. Notable features include Meteor Crater, Petrified Forest, London Bridge (relocated to Lake Havasu City), and Tombstone's Wild West history. Arizona doesn't observe Daylight Saving Time (except Navajo Nation).
